Fund-raising

The principal sources of funds for the management and development of the Garden come from Council revenue and the fund raising activities of the Friends.

The Council derives the revenue for the Garden from the Coffs Coast Caravan Parks. (Link to www.coffscoastholidayparks.com.au for further information.

Fund-raising by the Friends takes the form of concerts in the Pavilion, barbecues on special days such as Mother's and Father's days, Devonshire teas for events or special days, shop and plant sales, and raffles.

A range of items is available in the shop, including the booklet entitled "The Greenest Bend in the River", a souvenir of the Garden. A new leaflet entitled "Wildflowers of the North Coast of NSW" with photographs by Barry Kemp, and produced by the Friends, has proved to be a very popular publication. There is a CD of plants in the Garden available, and a variety of books.

Some festivals are sponsored by grants or individual companies.

Revenue is also derived from weddings and hire of display and conference rooms and occasionally hire of the Pavilion for outside shows and plays. Use of all areas of the Garden is subject to approval by Council - see "scheduling your event".
