Botanica Green Living Festival
This year Botanica is the culmination of a week long Festival: The Sustainable Living Festival. For further information go to http://www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/slf.
The festival aims to promote and demonstrate the move towards sustainable living by increasing awareness and enthusiasm for environmentally-sustainable ideas, products and services; showcasing the Coffs Coast as a leader in sustainable living.
Botanica itself features stalls selling native plants, arts and crafts as well as local leaders in architectural design, alternative energy solutions, cheesemaking and even raising chickens at home.
Arrawarra Aboriginal Community will be involved this year, providing bush tucker, and selling Aboriginal arts and crafts.
There will be lectures on living green - caring for the environment, habitat preservation, alternative energy solutions, waterwise gardening, composting, no-dig gardens, and many more instructive programs.
Children's programs include story time: reading by Coffs City Library staff; scarecrow making (with prizes to be awarded); and exhibits will display frogs, cane toads and native animals.
